1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing TAS DroneXchange, creating an account, or completing any transaction on the
platform, you agree to these Terms of Use and our
Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree, do not use the marketplace.
2. Accounts & profiles
- You must provide accurate account details, including your name, email, and primary marketplace role (buyer or renter, seller, drone operator, or service provider).
- Keep your profile, location, and provider details current so other users can trust listing and booking information.
- You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and all activity under your account.
- By creating an account you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
- Identity, licence, ABN, and company authority checks may be required before certain features. Verification material is reviewed privately and is not shown on public pages.
- Sellers, operators, and service providers who receive payouts must complete Stripe Connect onboarding before publishing paid listings or receiving payouts. Connect readiness is required for those payee roles where configured.
3. Listings
Hosts and sellers may publish listings for equipment hire, sales, or professional services. You agree to:
- Describe drones, docks, payloads, and services accurately, including condition, pricing, and location. Placeholder or junk titles are not allowed.
- Mark CASA or compliance attributes honestly and only when supported by documentation.
- Publish listings only when required details are complete and you are authorised to offer the item or service.
- Pause or remove listings that are unavailable, non-compliant, or misrepresented.
- Listing photos and public specification files you upload are visible to other users on the marketplace.
Users may report listings that appear misleading, prohibited, spam, miscategorised, or otherwise unsafe.
TAS may pause, remove, or limit listings and accounts after review.
4. Rentals & bookings
For hire and rental workflows:
- Renters submit booking requests with dates, location context, and project details.
- Hosts may accept, decline, or coordinate bookings through the platform messaging and dashboard tools.
- Both parties must confirm operating requirements, access, and handover conditions before the rental period begins.
- For renters: ask questions in Messages, request a video call to inspect the item before payment where practical, and take photos at collection and return for your own record.
- For hosts: photograph the item before handover, share those photos with the renter in Messages, and clearly highlight any existing scratches, marks, or damage.
- Where a rental security deposit applies, the buyer authorises a separate deposit hold. The deposit is released after return approval, or may be partly or fully claimed for accepted damage with supporting evidence.
- Cancellations and refunds follow the platform cancellation policy in section 9, including any payment processor rules in effect.
5. Sales & orders
For buy-and-sell listings:
- Buyers may place orders or message sellers to confirm specifications, inspection, and delivery.
- For buyers: ask clear product questions before payment, and request a video call to inspect condition where practical. Keep pickup or delivery details in Messages.
- For sellers: describe condition accurately, disclose known defects, and share photos in Messages before handover if helpful, highlighting any existing wear.
- Sellers are responsible for title, condition, and lawful transfer of equipment sold through the marketplace.
- Completed sales are paid through Stripe Connect as described in section 8.
- Shipping or postage arranged outside the platform is at the parties' own risk.
6. Operator services & quote requests
For operator and service-provider listings:
- Clients may request quotes with location, dates, budget, and a project brief.
- Providers respond with scope, pricing, and delivery expectations before work commences.
- Commercial drone work must be performed only by appropriately licensed and insured personnel.
- Service requests posted on the platform must be lawful and within CASA operational limits.
7. Trust & verification
- Verification badges (such as Identity verified, RePL verified, ABN verified, or ReOC verified) are displayed only after the relevant check is approved. Badges reflect identity or business checks, not a review of listing wording or photo quality.
- Identity verification may be completed through an approved third-party provider (for example Didit) using a government-issued ID and selfie or liveness capture. Completing that flow means you also accept the provider's end-user terms and privacy notices for that check.
- Uploaded or captured verification files are private. They are used for trust, fraud prevention, and compliance review, and are not shown on public listing or profile pages.
- Service providers may also need to confirm business type, ABN details, and any required authority documents before a company profile can go live.
- You remain responsible for holding appropriate insurance for your activity. Insurance documents may be requested or stored where provided, but insurance is not always a platform verification gate.
- Submitting false, incomplete, or misleading verification material, or misusing another person’s identity documents, may result in suspension or removal from the platform.
- TAS may revoke verification status, require a fresh check, or limit marketplace features where a check fails, expires, or needs more information.
8. Payments
Card payments are processed through Stripe when enabled. TAS DroneXchange uses Stripe Connect
with direct charges on the payee's connected Express account.
-
Merchant of record. For paid sales, rentals, and service bookings, the
seller, operator, or service provider (the payee) is the merchant of record for the charge.
You contract with that payee for the underlying goods or services. TAS provides the
marketplace and workflow tools.
-
No platform escrow. Funds are charged to the payee's Stripe connected
account. TAS is not an escrow agent and does not hold buyer funds as a trustee balance on
the platform.
-
No platform fee at launch. TAS does not currently charge a marketplace
platform fee on bookings or sales. If that changes, we will update these Terms and show any
fee clearly before you pay.
-
Stripe processing fees. Stripe card processing fees are borne by the payee
(netted from their Stripe balance), unless Stripe or TAS notifies you otherwise in writing.
-
Connect onboarding. Payees must complete Stripe Connect Express onboarding
(including identity and payout details Stripe requires) before publishing paid listings and
before payouts can be released.
-
Payouts. Payouts to the payee's bank account are released on a manual
schedule after order completion and after a hold window (currently
7 days, unless configured
differently). TAS or Stripe may delay, hold, or reverse payouts for risk, disputes,
refunds, chargebacks, or compliance reasons.
-
Tax invoices. Where configured, TAS may issue a recipient-created tax
invoice (RCTI) for marketplace transactions. Payees remain responsible for accurate ABN
and GST details and for their own tax and reporting obligations.
-
Deposits. Rental security deposits and service commitment payments may be
authorised separately from the main order payment. Deposit release, capture for damage
claims, and refunds follow the order workflow and cancellation policy.
-
Disputes and chargebacks. Card disputes are handled under the payee's
connected Stripe account rules. TAS may assist with order records and support, but the
payee remains responsible to Stripe for dispute outcomes on their charges.
- You are responsible for any taxes, duties, or charges applicable to your transactions.
9. Cancellations & refunds
TAS DroneXchange applies a staged cancellation policy to bookings, rentals, operator jobs,
and other paid marketplace orders. You must review and accept this policy when paying or
accepting a quote where acknowledgement is required on the order or checkout screen.
Cancellation tiers
- Free cancellation before you pay.
- After payment, before scheduling: full refund of the commitment payment if either party cancels. For bookable orders, the provider should schedule within 24 hours or the buyer is fully refunded.
- After scheduling: if the buyer cancels, a 25% cancellation fee applies to the commitment payment and the remainder is refunded. If the provider cancels, the buyer receives a full refund. Rental security bonds are still refunded on cancel.
- Before payment: either party may cancel without a cancellation fee under the free-cancel tier.
- After payment, before scheduling: either party may cancel for a full refund of the commitment payment where the payment partner supports it. For bookable rentals and services, the provider should schedule within 24 hours; reminder emails are sent at payment, at 12 hours remaining, and at 2 hours remaining. If the order is still unscheduled when the 24-hour window ends, the buyer is fully refunded automatically.
- After scheduling (or equivalent fulfilment readiness): if the buyer cancels, a 25% fee applies to the commitment payment and the remainder is refunded. If the provider cancels, the buyer receives a full refund. Rental security bonds remain subject to the bond refund rules on cancel.
- Some statuses (for example active hire, in progress, or shipped) may block cancellation in-app; contact the counterparty and support if you need assistance.
- Where available, buyers may request a reschedule instead of cancelling while the full-refund (pre-schedule) tier applies.
- Refunds, fee retention, and credit notes are processed through the integrated payment partner and recorded on the order.
- Administrators may apply an override in exceptional cases; any override remains subject to these Terms and applicable law.
- For rentals, both parties should inspect and photograph the item at handover and return, and keep records in Messages. Rental bond release and damage claims follow the deposit workflow on the order.
- Shipping or postage arranged outside the platform is at the parties' own risk.
For plain-language questions, see the
cancellation FAQs
and the disclosure shown on the order payment screen.
10. Compliance, insurance & safe operations
Users are responsible for CASA compliance, insurance, and safe operations.
This includes holding valid licences or approvals, maintaining insurance appropriate to the
activity, conducting risk assessments, and respecting airspace, privacy, and property rules.
TAS may ask for documents where relevant, but does not replace your duty to stay compliant.
TAS DroneXchange provides listing and workflow tools but does not operate flights or guarantee regulatory outcomes for users.
11. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Use the platform for unlawful, unsafe, or deceptive activity.
- Circumvent fees, abuse messaging, or harass other users.
- Upload malware, scrape data without permission, or attempt unauthorised access to systems or private files.
- Misrepresent identity, credentials, or business registration (including ABN details where provided).
- Publish misleading listings, prohibited items, or content that violates these Terms.
Report concerning listings or behaviour through the listing report controls or the
Contact page. TAS may investigate and take
action including content removal, feature limits, or account suspension.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, TAS DroneXchange and its operators are not liable for
indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from marketplace use, user-generated
listings, third-party payments (including Stripe Connect outcomes), identity verification
outcomes provided by third-party partners, payout timing, disputes between users, or
off-platform conduct between buyers, sellers, renters, and service providers.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or
remedy under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive
jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria and the Commonwealth of Australia.
TAS DroneXchange is operated by Timed Automation Solutions Pty Ltd ACN 686 774 872. For
notices and support, use the Contact page.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes are
posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
